PILATES AT HOME
Building a movement routine doesn’t have to be overwhelming—or expensive. These are the tools I started with when I first began doing Pilates at home, and they continue to ground me in my practice. Each item has been chosen for its quality, ease of use, and ability to support movement with grace and intention.
ESSENTIALS
Yoga Mat
This yoga mat has honestly become one of my favourite wellness staples. I use it every morning — whether I’m stretching, doing Pilates, or just sitting in stillness to ground myself. It’s cushioned just enough to protect my joints but still firm enough for balance, and I love that it doesn’t slip around. Having a mat I actually enjoy using has made it so much easier to stay consistent.
💡 Glow Tip: Choose a neutral or soft-toned mat that complements your space—making your home workouts feel elevated and inviting.
Ankle Weights
Adding ankle weights to my routine was such a game-changer. I wear them when I want to turn a light Pilates flow into a slow burn, and they’re perfect for days when I’m short on time but still want to feel challenged. I love how they help activate those smaller muscles and keep my movements intentional.
Foam Roller – Stretch, Release, Repeat
After a great Pilates session, my foam roller is my go-to for recovery. I use it to release tension in my back, hips, and legs—it’s like giving your muscles a mini massage right at home. It helps me feel looser, recover faster, and get ready for my next workout. If you’ve never added foam rolling to your routine, you’ll be amazed at how much better your body feels after just a few minutes.
Pilates Prop Kit (Ring, Ball & Light Weights)
I started using this Pilates prop kit during my at-home sessions, and it’s completely elevated the way I move. The ring, ball, and light weights add just the right amount of resistance without feeling overwhelming. I usually follow along with Pilates with Izzy on YouTube — her videos are so calming and effective, and this kit pairs perfectly with her workouts. It’s such a simple but powerful way to feel stronger and more in tune with your body.
Pilates Socks
I used to work out barefoot, but once I started using gripped Pilates socks, I never went back. They help me stay grounded in every movement — especially during standing flows and stretches. Plus, there's something about slipping them on that makes my morning routine feel more put-together.
